Terms of Service

Effective date: 14 March 2026 — Version 1.0

1. About us

CV Scout AI is operated by NT, trading as CV Scout AI. Contact us via the contact form. These Terms of Service govern your use of the CV Scout AI website and service at cv-scout.com.

2. The service

CV Scout AI provides AI-assisted CV tailoring using large language models (LLMs) from third-party AI providers, enhanced by our own proprietary keyword-matching and scoring logic. You provide your CV and a job description; the service analyses these inputs and suggests tailored rewrites aligned with the role. All output is AI-generated and must be reviewed by you before use. We do not guarantee interviews, job offers, or any particular employment outcome.

A free keyword-matching tier is also available without credits.

3. Minimum age

You must be aged 18 or over to use CV Scout AI. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

4. Credits

AI tailoring uses Scout AI credits, purchased in advance. Credits are:

  • Consumed at the rate of one credit per AI tailoring session
  • Non-transferable between accounts
  • Valid indefinitely (no expiry once purchased)
  • Not redeemable for cash except as described in our Refund Policy

5. Cancellation rights and waiver

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day right to cancel a purchase. However, at checkout you will be asked to confirm that you request immediate access to your credits and acknowledge that using credits waives your cancellation right for those credits used.

See our Refund Policy for our voluntary commercial refund commitment on unused credits.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Input another person's personal data into the service without their authorisation
  • Use AI output without reviewing it for accuracy before submitting to employers
  • Access the service by automated means or attempt to scrape its content
  • Misrepresent AI-generated content as exclusively your own original writing in contexts where disclosure is required
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits or payment requirements

7. AI disclosure and your responsibility

CV Scout AI uses large language models from third-party AI providers, combined with proprietary logic developed by CV Scout AI. All tailoring suggestions are AI-generated and subject to our own additional processing. AI output may occasionally contain inaccuracies, hallucinations, or inappropriate content. You are responsible for reviewing all AI-generated output before using it. You remain solely responsible for the accuracy of your CV and how tailored CVs are used in your job applications.

8. Intellectual property

You retain ownership of your CV content. CV Scout AI owns the platform, its code, design, and output methodology. You grant us a limited licence to process your CV content solely for the purpose of delivering the service.

9. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law (including rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015).

Subject to the above, our total liability to you in connection with these terms shall not exceed the total amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses, including lost job opportunities.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for abuse, breach of these Terms, or chargeback fraud. You may delete your account at any time from your Account page.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by English law and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer law protections of your country of residence if you are an EU consumer. If you have a complaint, please contact us first. If we cannot resolve it within 30 days, you may escalate to an approved Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider.
